BREAKING: AJ Foyt Racing signs multi-year deal with Dennis Hauger
AJ Foyt Racing has announced that the 2026 IndyCar Rookie of the Year Dennis Hauger will pilot the No.14 car for 2027 onwards.
Hauger won the Indy NXT title in his rookie season in the category in 2025 after coming over from FIA Formula 2. The Norweigan driver then joined Dale Coyne Racing for his rookie IndyCar season, despite having ties with Andretti Global from Indy NXT.
Hauger finished 22nd overall in his rookie IndyCar season, taking the Rookie of the Year honours above Mick Schumacher and Caio Collet. He scored two top 10 finishes, inluding a best-placed finish of eighth place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.
Now, Hauger has been announced at AJ Foyt, signing a mult-year deal to drive the car formerly driven by Santino Ferrucci. Ferrucci drove the No.14 Foyt car for four seasons, starting in 2023.
“Dennis has accomplished a lot for someone who is only 23,” AJ Foyt team president Larry Foyt said. “Every time he’s moved into something new, he’s adapted quickly and he’s won. Coming over here and winning in INDY NXT as a rookie certainly got everyone’s attention, and then we watched how he progressed through his rookie season in IndyCar.”
Hauger is looking forward to his second IndyCar season with a new team.
“I’m really excited about it,” he commented. “Larry and I have had some very good conversations about the team and where they want to go. I’ve learned a lot in my first two years racing in America, but I still feel like there is a lot more for me to learn and accomplish in IndyCar.
“This team has so much history in this sport, but what intrigues me even more was hearing about the future and what they’re building now. I want to work hard with everyone there and see how far we can take it.”
From Foyt's perspective, signing Hauger was a very simple decision. “Dennis wants to win, and we want to win,” Foyt said. “That’s where everything starts.”
