Rinus VeeKay has made the switch to Juncos Hollinger Racing (JHR) for the 2026 IndyCar season after impressing at Dale Coyne Racing in 2025.
The two-car team was driven last year by Sting Ray Robb and Conor Daly. While JHR did not announce which car VeeKay will be piloting, it is understood that he will be replacing Daly, as Robb is currently under a multi-year deal with the team.
“I’m excited to officially announce my move to Juncos Hollinger Racing,” VeeKay said. “This is a team with real momentum, high ambitions and a clear vision for the future. There’s a shared determination to compete at the highest level, and I’m confident that together we can achieve great things.
“Signing with Juncos Hollinger Racing also feels like a return home – Juncos Racing gave me my start in the Pro Mazda Championship (now USF Pro 2000) in 2018, and we continued together in Indy Lights (now Indy NXT by Firestone) in 2019, winning 13 races and a championship title together. I believe this is the right environment for me to continue growing as a driver.”
VeeKay joined Coyne late in the off-season ahead of the 2025 campaign after being let go by Ed Carpenter Racing (ECR), the only previous team he had driven for, after five years.
He inspired a drastic upturn in form at Coyne compared to the struggles of the team in 2024. Across their two cars, there were nine different drivers in an uncertain and unstable 2024 season; they finished 26th and 27th in entrant points - last of the full-season entries - and did not come close to making the Leaders’ Circle.
So for VeeKay to have finished 14th in points, between the two entries of his former employers - with whom ties were unceremoniously cut in September last year - marks a season where his name was put back on the map for IndyCar’s leading teams.

His year was headlined by a podium in Toronto, finishing second for his first rostrum visit in over three years and the team’s first on a road or street course since 2021. Coyne did not achieve a better race result than 13th in 2024; VeeKay usurped that eight times, including seven top-10 finishes - his joint-career-best single-season tally - and two top fives.
Off the back of a stressful off-season of free agency, Coyne offered VeeKay a lifeline as a team in strife joined forces with a driver in need. And it proved a perfect combination as Coyne achieved its best championship finish since 2020.
But while fresh investment for both cars has come from businessman Todd Ault for 2026, VeeKay will not be returning having been offered a drive with JHR.
Still only 24 years old, in 2025 VeeKay reminded the paddock why he was touted by some of IndyCar’s leading teams in the early years of his career. He rediscovered the form which saw him a four-time podium-sitter and race-winner in his first three years in IndyCar.
Despite never being at a consistent front-running team, he has maintained an ultra-consistent record of finishing between 12th and 14th in the championship in each of his six years in the series. His work at some of IndyCar’s smaller outfits has caught the eye.
Now he joins JHR, whose best-placed driver (Daly) finished 18th in the driver standings in 2025. His teammate Robb finished the year in 25th place.
“At Juncos Hollinger Racing, we’re fully focused on building a program capable of sustained high performance in the years ahead,” said Juncos Hollinger Racing team principal Dave O’Neill. “We have exciting plans across every area of the team – on and off the track – and bringing Rinus onboard is a major step in that direction.
“Reuniting with Rinus feels like a natural continuation of the success we’ve shared in the past. As Juncos Hollinger Racing enters its fifth full INDYCAR season and with Rinus bringing six seasons of INDYCAR experience at just 25 years of age, we believe this reunion will deliver results quickly. He brings the ideal combination of speed, consistency, race craft and experience that we’re looking for.
“Rinus will be a key part of a refreshed driver lineup that reflects our ambitions and long-term vision. We’re working hard to assemble the right mix of talent to elevate our competitiveness, and we’re confident that Rinus will play a central role in that progress.”
