With the final qualifying sessions of the 2025 Supercars season laying the groundwork for a blockbuster season finale, Broc Feeney finished the Top 10 shootout best of the rest, with Chaz Mostert looking to take the fight to his rival from fourth on the grid.

The weather continued to put on a show in the lead up to the first part of qualifying, with both rain and sunshine making an appearance, leaving pools of standing water on the racing line.
As it happened:
Having surveyed the circuit during their out laps, the likes of Triple Eight and Grove Racing decided to bring their drivers into the pit lane to shed their wet tyres in favour of slicks.
André Heimgartner was the first to move to the top of the timesheets with a time of 1:30.991, over 10-seconds off of Broc Feeney’s Saturday pole-lap in the dry. However, the session was soon brought to a halt as Cooper Murray went skating into the concrete barriers, bringing out the red flag with slightly over three minutes left on the clock. The red flag left Cameron Hill at the top of the order with a time of 1:26.468.
As the session resumed and track conditions improved, those occupying the garages closest to the pit exit were awarded two final attempts at making the top 18, with the remainder of the field only given a single shot at surviving elimination.
Grand Final contender Kai Allen headed up the first part of qualifying with a time of 1:20.131, followed by his teammate Matt Payne. The Triple Eight squad followed closely behind in third and fourth, with fellow title contender Chaz Mostert in ninth.
It was a tale of two weekends for Aaron Cameron, who had started Saturday’s race from second, but is set to begin the Sunday finale from 24th. Cameron Waters’ qualifying woes continued to haunt him, as the man from Mildura found himself out in Qualifying 1, over 1.7 seconds off of Allen’s fastest lap. Waters will start from 22nd despite his display of rapid pace over the course of the weekend.
Despite leading the first part of qualifying, the drying track surface saw camber adjustments for the Grove Racing pair and Feeney’s #88 Chevrolet before the lights went green at the end of pit lane.
James Courtney was first to surpass the 1:20.000 mark in his final qualifying session for Blanchard, before both Triple Eight drivers faced contact, with Feeney tapping the barrier at Turn 6 before Brown came into contact with Payne in his battle for track position.
Jayden Ojeda held the lead for much of the session with his time of 1:19.703, securing a spot in the Top 10 Shootout in just his second full-time Supercars weekend with PremiAir Racing.
Hill was next to beat Ojeda’s lap time, followed by fan favourite Chaz Mostert, raising the bar by 0.188 seconds for Walkinshaw Andretti United.
Final flying laps came storming in as Qualifying 2 came to a close, with Ryan Wood setting a time of 1:19.191 as the checkered flag dropped, granting the 21-year-old provisional pole.
All four championship contenders saw themselves safely through into the Top 10 Shootout, with Feeney trailing Wood by just 0.048 seconds. Mostert and Brown sat in 7th and 8th respectively, whilst Allen snuck through into contention, leaving the session in 10th.
Onto the Top Ten Shootout, Allen was first to hit the track, setting a time of 1:20.769 and with that the benchmark for the 9 remaining drivers.
Ojeda was next in line, missing the mark by just 0.012s on his shootout debut.
Defending champion Will Brown was the first of the Triple Eight drivers to tour the circuit, moving to the top over 3-tenths clear of Allen but leaving extra time on the table after running wide through the final corner.
Mostert set out on his high-stakes lap, colouring all three sectors purple to set a time of 1:19.987, clearing Brown by over 4-tenths and claiming provisional pole.
Macauley Jones set a rapid lap for Brad Jones Racing, slotting his Chevrolet between Mostert and Brown before his teammate in Heimgartner took to the tarmac, crossing the line just 0.032 seconds behind Jones.
Anton De Pasquale flew through the final sector in the #18 car, 0.012 seconds off of Mostert’s lap. Payne took the challenge to Mostert, setting two purple sectors on his way to provisional pole, putting 2-tenths between himself and Mostert.
Championship leader and qualifying record-breaker Feeney suffered a compromised start to his lap, missing the apex of Turn 14, but managed to go purple through all three sectors, leapfrogging Payne with a time of 1:19.641.
Last-up was Wood, who missed out on the front row by 0.051 seconds, qualifying third for WAU.
With all 10 drivers having completed their laps, Feeney closed out the final qualifying session of the season with his 19th pole of the 2025 season. With Payne and Wood splitting Feeney and title contender Mostert, the duo will act as catalysts in the championship fight come race-time.
Brown and Allen will start from 8th and 9th respectively, but still remain in the hunt for the title.
