Haas has arrived at the 2025 Singapore Grand Prix with careful optimism, as Esteban Ocon believes that the characteristics of the Marina Bay Street Circuit could play to their car's strengths.

Speaking during the press conference ahead of the weekend, Ocon outlined the team's mixed form since the summer break. He noted that after "a very good Zandvoort," the team has struggled at subsequent tracks where they "were lacking a lot of pace."

However, he is hopeful for a competitive showing in Singapore, explaining that the twisty, high-downforce layout should suit the Haas package. "We lose performance in the straight lines, and there aren't many of those here," Ocon stated.

He also added that he "really likes this track since the modifications were made in the final sector" but remains wary of the unpredictable conditions, conceding "it is looking a bit tough with the weather."

Aside from Ocon and the team's focus on the current challenge, the weekend has also been a time of reflection on the journey of Romain Grosjean.

The French driver recently completed a test with Haas at Mugello, five years after his fiery accident in Bahrain. For the team, the day was described as a "big family day" and "very emotional."

Ocon praised Grosjean's immediate pace, "Romain didn't lose anything, he was straight on it right away." The test was also a tribute to his foundational role, with the driver emphasising that the team "did not forget Romain was there from the start and that is very special."

The sentiment was shared across the paddock. George Russell, who witnessed the 2020 crash firsthand, recalled the moment: "I still remember it to this moment, seeing the flames in my rear view mirror." He expressed his happiness that Grosjean's F1 story had a more fitting conclusion, calling it "so nice to see him and for Haas to give him the opportunity."

Lando Norris echoed the feeling, stating, "I guess nice for him and the team! They probably didn't want it to end the way it did in some ways or for certain things to happen, and he's been racing since, but for him to get back into an F1 car, his dream, and kind of get back probably some good memories was a nice thing for him. It's nice to see it."

As Haas looks to its future and a potential points finish in Singapore, the heartfelt celebration of one of its original drivers serves as a powerful reminder of the team's resilience and history.
