Lamborghini Squadra Corse have announced on Monday morning that they will be pausing their current IMSA programme heading into next season.

The Italian brand has cited a "strategic realignment" of its motorsport programme (Squadra Corse) for it's choice to put the SC63's racing career on hold.

The car completed a full season of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and IMSA in 2024 with Iron Lynx, with disappointing results. After a split with the team, Lamborghini turned to Riley to run the car in 2025, competing only in the five Michelin Endurance Cup rounds in IMSA, with the car not present on any WEC entry lists.

The car will compete in the final two rounds of the IMSA Endurance Cup at Indianapolis and Road Atlanta, but it is unclear when we will next see the car after that, if we ever see it on the track again.

The news comes after a series-best result at the 6 Hours of the Glen for the car, with Romain Grosjean and Danil Kvyat taking home seventh place after leading laps of the race.

Lamborghini themselves have said they will now focus on their GT programmes: "Given this context, Lamborghini has made the strategic decision to refocus its efforts and investments on the GT3 platform and Super Trofeo, which remain the cornerstones of the brand’s motorsport activities and a key pillar in delivering performance excellence to its customers around the world."

The brand new Temerario GT3 will make it's debut at next years 12 Hours of Sebring, with Lamborghini hoping it will fill the hole the SC63 has left.
