Honda rider Luca Marini is currently hospitalised with multiple injuries following a serious crash during a training session in Japan.

The 27-year-old Italian went down at the Suzuka Circuit on Wednesday, suffering a dislocated hip, fractures to the sternum, a right collapsed lung and knee ligament damage.
"Having completed a successful first day, the Italian began the second day of his programme but crashed heavily", said the team in an official statement after the incident.
Marini, who currently sits 13th in the 2025 MotoGP world championship standings, was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is reported to be in a stable condition.
After the British GP, Marini travelled to the circuit to prepare for the prestigious Suzuka 8 Hours endurance race, held annually at the Honda-owned track. He was accompanied by LCR Honda racer Johann Zarco.
The team has confirmed that Marini will remain in Japan under medical observation until he is fit to travel.
In an Instagram Post, Marini thanked his fans for the support and promised to keep them updated.
This is not the first time that a rider has been severely injured at Suzuka. Back in 2015, MotoGP test rider Casey Stoner broke his leg and shoulder due to a malfunctioning throttle cable on his bike.
Honda has yet to officially confirm whether a replacement will be needed for Luca Marini, but given the severity of his injuries and the fact that the next race is just 10 days away, a stand-in appears all but certain.
If that is the case, test rider and race winner Aleix Espargaro, who already made two wildcard appearances for Honda this season, is most likely to replace him.
Meanwhile, Zarco won´t be the only MotoGP rider who is set to compete in the Suzuka 8 Hours this year. Yamaha´s Jack Miller has already been confirmed as part of Yamaha´s factory line-up for the endurance race.
The eighth race of the season is set on June 8th in Aragon, Spain.
