Qualifying for the 58. ADAC Barbarossapreis concluded with four time Formula One World Champion, Max Verstappen, on pole.
The No.3 Verstappen.com Mercedes went to the top of the timing board right at the start of qualifying, as Daniel Juncadella set a lap time in the low eight minutes. Verstappen jumped in the car after his teammate, but his run was disrupted when a code 60 came out to clear a crashed Porsche Cayman.
The times started to tumble in the final 30 minutes of qualifying as the track went fully green once again. Quick times were set by the No.16 Scherer Sport PHX Audi and No.98 Rowe Racing BMW, but it was Verstappen who stopped the lap timer earliest, with a 7:51.751.
The No.16 Audi was 1.974 seconds behind, and the No.98 BMW was 2.855 seconds back. The No.34 Walkenhorst Aston Martin finished fourth, and the No.80 Winward Racing Mercedes rounded out the top five.
