Oscar Piastri, Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly all slid down the Mexico City Grand Prix classification after penalties were applied to the result, and the points have been redistributed down the order.

Piastri was handed a 10-second penalty for causing a collision with Arvid Lindblad. He had crossed the line seventh and is now classified 13th, 29.475 seconds behind race winner Max Verstappen. The stewards ruled he was never fully alongside Lindblad on the approach to Turn 1 and could have avoided the contact by moving further left.

Colapinto and Gasly were both punished for failing to slow for yellow flags. Colapinto's 10-second penalty dropped him from eighth on the road to 15th. Gasly's stop-and-go penalty for ignoring double-waved yellows was converted to a 30-second time penalty, sending him from 10th to 17th and last of the classified finishers. Alpine leave Mexico City without a point from either car.

Liam Lawson and Gabriel Bortoleto gain the most. Lawson moves up to seventh and takes six points instead of two. Bortoleto climbs from 11th to eighth and scores four. Isack Hadjar is promoted to ninth for two points, while Ryo Hirakawa takes the final point in 10th on his F1 debut for Haas.

Kimi Antonelli's title is unaffected. He finished third and stays on 380 points, ahead of Verstappen on 261. Piastri remains seventh in the standings on 144, 77 behind Lando Norris. Bortoleto's haul lifts him to 14 points, enough to move ahead of Nico Hulkenberg on 13 for 14th place. The constructors' order does not change, with Red Bull on 382, McLaren on 365 and Alpine down to 69.

Bortoleto now takes his points tally to his home race at Interlagos on 8 November.
