Noah Strømsted steps up to Invicta Racing for 2027 F2 season

Invicta Racing have rounded out their driver line-up for the 2027 Formula 2 season, with Noah Strømsted joining 2026 Formula 3 runner-up Freddie Slater at the team in yellow for the upcoming season of racing.
The Danish driver competed in F3 for two seasons, and becomes the fifth Trident driver to step up to Invicta's F2 squad, continuing the long-standing pathway set between both championships.
It's an unconventional route taken by the British outfit for the upcoming season, moving away from their traditional method of fielding a rookie alongside an experienced driver. Slater and Strømsted mark the team's first all-rookie line-up in F2 next year, tracing back to the days when the team ran as UNI Virtuosi and Russian Time.
For Strømsted, who finished 10th in F3 in 2026, this presents a massive opportunity for the Dane to join one of F2's strongest outfits. "I’m really excited to be stepping up to FIA Formula 2 with Invicta Racing next year," Strømsted expressed.
"I’ve learned a great deal competing in FIA Formula 3 since 2024 and I feel ready to take on the next challenge in my career."
"Invicta Racing has established itself as the performance benchmark on the F2 grid and I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone in the team. I can’t wait to start preparing for 2027 and I’m excited to see what we can achieve together,” Strømsted said, looking ahead to the coming season of racing.
Invicta have also become the first to round out their driver line-up for 2027, with Team Principal and CEO James Robinson excited to work with the 19-year old going into the upcoming campaign.
"We’re delighted to welcome Noah (Strømsted) to Invicta Racing for the 2027 season," Robinson said, on the announcement.
"FIA Formula 3 is one of the most competitive categories in junior single-seater motorsport and, after following his progress closely, we believe that Noah has all the qualities to be a future champion, so we’re very much looking forward to helping him make the step up to Formula 2," Robinson continued.
Strømsted, a native of Copenhagen, will be looking build on his prior success as he enters a new chapter. He first broke onto the scene by finishing second in Danish F4 back in 2021.
He built on this result with two solid campaigns with two top 10 finishes in Spanish F4 and the F4 UAE Championship in the following years, before stepping up to race in the Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA) in 2024. Strømsted finished sixth in the season, capping off his season with four podiums and a pole position.
The Dane then stepped up to Trident's F3 outfit in 2025, finishing sixth with a victory in Spa. The result added to his podium in Melbourne earlier in the season.
Staying on for a second year, Strømsted took his maiden Feature Race win at the Red Bull Ring earlier this year, on his way to a top 10 finish.
Strømsted joins an Invicta team that has been on the up in F2's latest regulations set. The British team has delivered two back-to-back drivers' champions in Gabriel Bortoleto and Leonardo Fornaroli in 2024 and 2025. Rafael Câmara currently leads the championship for Invicta, with three Feature Race wins to his name in 2026.
Invicta's Joshua Dürksen has also scored four victories in 2026, highlighting the strength of the team's package all season. Invicta sit second in the constructors' championship after F2's triple-race weekend in Baku, 36 points adrift of leaders Campos.
The back-to-back drivers and constructors' champions will be looking to make it three in a row, as they enter the final stretch of the season, and provide the duo of Slater and Strømsted with yet more optimism going into 2027.
