Esteban Ocon has been officially disqualified from the qualifying results of the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix after the stewards confirmed that the rear wing on his Haas Formula One car failed a post-session technical inspection. The team admitted the discrepancy was the result of a "problem with the production of the assembly of this specific part".

The final decision from the stewards, released on the evening of the 20th September 2025, followed a report from the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Technical Delegate. A breach of Article 3.15.17 of the FIA Technical Regulations concerning the rear wing main plane tip deflection test was confirmed.
Haas F1 Team Manager and Head of Car Engineering attended a hearing with the FIA as they detailed the test procedure. They reported that the deflection on the rear wing of No. 31 exceeded the maximum permitted variance of 0.5mm, measuring 0.6mm on the left side and a more significant 0.825mm on the right side. The driver, Ocon, was excused from the hearing.
The Haas team conceded that the test was conducted correctly but explained the failure was due to a production issue with the specific assembly.
Despite the team's explanation, the stewards determined the car was not in compliance with the regulations, imposing "the usual penalty of disqualification from the Qualifying classifications". As a result, Ocon loses his qualifying position and will now start Sunday's race from the pit lane. The stewards also reminded the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team of their right to appeal the decision.
