In a post on their Instagram on Monday afternoon, Peugeot Sport teased a possible World Endurance Championship (WEC) drive for Jaguar Formula E driver Nick Cassidy.
The post - which Cassidy himself collaborated on - was a mock Instagram direct message (DM), where the Peugeot account messaged Cassidy asking about his summer plans.

The teams account continued by saying; "We booked you a flight to Austin this September". This is referring to the upcoming WEC Lone Star Le Mans, which is due to be held on the 7th of September.
Furthermore, the French Hypercar manufacturer says the two should "chat 2025/2026 FIA WEC plans", with Cassidy replying "can't wait to catch up in Austin".
The post hints that Cassidy will be present at the six hour event in Austin, but may even compete in it. A campaign for the final two rounds afterwards - Fuji and Bahrain - may also be on the cards for the Kiwi.
It also seems very likely from the post, that Cassidy will drive for the team in 2026 in the WEC. The New Zealander has previously raced in the championship, with AF Corse in 2022 in the LMGTE Am class.
The post also begs the question, what of his Formula E campaign? It could mean a switch for Cassidy to Maserati. Both Peugeot and Maserati are brands part of the Stellantis Group, who own and have a large say in the operations of both companies.
Many Formula E drivers run a dual campaign with the WEC, such as Sebastian Buemi and current Peugeot driver Stoffel Vandoorne, so this is a likely case for Cassidy and the Stellantis owned squads.
This may also spell the end for a current Peugeot driver, if Cassidy is to drive in COTA. The two 9X8 crews already have full crews of three drivers. Paul Di Resta, Mikkel Jensen and Jean-Eric Vergne pilot the No.93 and Loic Duval, Malthe Jakobsen and Stoffel Vandoorne drive the No.94.
The post doesn't show any clues as to which of the two cars Cassidy may find himself in, or indeed which driver he will be replacing.
With an official announcement still pending, everything said at this point is just speculation. But we most definitely can expect to see Nick Cassidy in a Peugeot 9X8 very soon.
