Alex Albon offered a candid assessment of the Dutch Grand Prix venue, a place he calls a "bogey track" for his team, Williams, before revealing why they still expect to perform well.

The seaside circuit at Zandvoort is known for its high-speed banking and demanding corners, but for Alex Albon, the track's defining characteristic might just be the wind.

Albon described Zandvoort as an "interesting track" stating that it "doesn't necessarily suit our car".

However, he quickly pivoted to highlight a crucial nuance: "The wind tends to come from one place, and that seems to suit our car."

This detail underscores how external elements can turn a theoretical disadvantage into a strength. He also characterised the track as a "confidence track".

Shifting his focus, Albon also delved into the experience of drivers who have had a year out of Formula One before making a return, specifically referencing the recent news that Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Pérez have signed with Cadillac for their F1 debut. Having gone through this himself, Albon possesses a unique perspective.

Albon highlighted a specific advantage for Bottas and Pérez due to the recent "regulation reset."

He explained: "One of my benefits to my year similar to them is the regulation reset - you don't get the drivers carrying the experience of that car regulation, it is a bit of a blank slate."

He expressed confidence that the two veteran drivers would adapt quickly: "I don't think they missed out on much, they'll fall into the swing of things pretty quickly."
