McLaren have confirmed on Friday that Dallara will be their chassis supplier of choice for their upcoming LMDh project that they announced in April. The cars - coming in 2027 - will be run by United Autosports and James Barclay, who has been appointed team principal.
McLaren will join BMW and Cadillac as the third LMDh manufacturer to use a chassis supplied by Dallara, the manufacturer was widely expected to be chosen for the program.
Similarly, United Autosports were also the clear frontrunner to run the yet unnamed cars. The Anglo-American team is co-owned by McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown, and already runs the McLaren efforts in LMGT3 in both the WEC (World Endurance Championship) and the ELMS (European Le Mans Series).
On the management level for the program, James Barclay will take to the helm. Barclay currently is the managing director for the Jaguar Land Rover brand, and serves as team principal for the Jaguar Formula E project.
McLaren is set to give a first glimpse of its upcoming WEC challenger on Saturday at the Circuit de la Sarthe, in the build up to Le Mans.
