Daly to make full-time IndyCar return with Dreyer & Reinbold

Conor Daly will return to full-time IndyCar competition after signing a multi-year deal with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing (DRR), who in turn will also make their full-time return to IndyCar in 2027.

DRR's full-time return was announced in July, when they completed the first purchase of an IndyCar charter, purchasing one of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing's (RLL) three charters, enabling the team to compete in a full-season for the first time since 2012.

As part of Daly's announcement, the team also confirmed that the No.24 entry that Daly will be driving will be powered by Honda, as the team move away from the Chevrolet power that they have utilised every year since 2012 at the Indianapolis 500. DRR's comeback to full-time racing will also see them enter a partnership with RLL.

Daly returns to full-time racing for the first time since his departure from Juncos Hollinger Racing at the end of 2025. Daly has familiarity with the team, having competed with DRR in this year's Indianapolis 500, where he finished 12th, as well as the 108th Running of the race in 2024.

“I am extremely grateful to get back to full-time IndyCar racing with my friends at Dreyer and Reinbold Racing and Honda,” said Daly. “The faith that this group has shown in me is something that makes me want to work harder than ever before to deliver. We, as a team, will aim every day to make Dennis proud of the effort we put in to be competitive and continue the team’s legacy.”

Daly and DRR's full-time return will fulfil the ambitions of team founder Dennis Reinbold, who passed away on June 13th, in his desire to bring the team back to full-time competition in the series. His role at the team has since been continued by his son Derek, who helped negotiate the charter purchase from RLL.

“Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is returning to full-time competition in 2027 with Honda engines, and Conor Daly is the driver we want leading that return,” said Derek Reinbold, DRR CEO. “Conor has raced for us at Indianapolis, so we know how he prepares, how he works with engineers, and how much he gets out of a car. He has shown for years that he can win the Indianapolis 500, and our job is to give him a car that lets him do it. We are building a team that contends every weekend, and Conor is the driver we trust to carry that effort across the full season. An Indiana driver in an Indiana team’s car is exactly how we want to come back.”

The team have been non-committal on if they plan on entering a second car at next year's Indianapolis 500, like they have done since 2018. Jack Harvey has driven one of the team's entries in each of the last two seasons.

DRR and Daly's first race as a full-time duo will be on the Streets of St. Petersburg on March 7th, 2027.
