DIVEBOMB announces new partnership with National Motorsport Academy

DIVEBOMB Motorsport Magazine is excited to announce a new partnership with National Motorsport Academy (NMA) - the world's leading online motorsport engineering school. NMA offers three online motorsport engineering degrees to kickstart a career in the motorsport industry, in an affordable and familiar fashion.

NMA was founded in April 2015, with the aim to offer a flexible, fully online engineering degree for working professionals who could not attend traditional campus programs as a way to combat the growing decline of qualified motorsport engineers. The Bachelor’s program has produced over 2000 graduates in the last 10 years, working on NMA’s state-of-the-art industry standard software.

Team NMA is one of the biggest features of the school, being a group that runs a Lotus Evora and Mosler MT900R in the UK-based GT Cup series, with which students can apply to have a hands-on race weekend experience.

Prospective students can enrol with NMA at any point in the academic year, with courses usually taking between one and three years to complete

Their most popular course, the BSc (Hons) Motorsport Engineering bachelor’s degree, takes approximately three years of part-time, flexible online study to complete, designed to cater to your personal needs for learning. Students will study topics such as mathematics for motorsport; race car design & preparation; fluid mechanics & thermodynamics; engine design, development & simulation and a 40-hour work experience program.

There are no exams in the course, just a tutor assessment moderated by the De Montfort University, a university rated 5 QS Stars, the maximum possible rating.

Entry requirements for this course are a Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Motorsport Engineering or Technology, Automotive Maintenance or equivalent, Automotive Maintenance or equivalent or another engineering discipline. Alternatively, an A-Level in Maths and/or Physics with an equivalent of 100 UCAS Points will meet the relevant requirements along with a CV with proof of motorsport or automotive engineering experience.

International students are also admitted to NMA as they recognise all international equivalent qualifications.

Alongside their engineering course, NMA offers a masters degree in The Business of Motorsport, giving students the opportunity to look towards careers in entrepreneurship, marketing, project management and leadership within the world of motorsport.

The total list of courses offered are:

  • BSc (Hons) Motorsport Engineering

  • BSc (Hons) Motorsport Engineering Final Year Top Up

  • MSc Advanced Motorsport Engineering

  •  MA Business of Motorsport

Fees are 33% cheaper than standard university training due to its online nature, with student loans available to UK students to further assist with necessary fees. Students are also able to work throughout the whole process.
