Felipe Drugovich to race for Andretti in Season 12 of Formula E

Andretti have become the latest team to confirm their driver pairing for the upcoming Season 12 of Formula E, with Brazilian racer Felipe Drugovich joining forces with the incumbent Jake Dennis at the American team for 2026.

Drugovich was heavily rumoured to race at the American outfit, with rapidly developing talks finally materialising into a race seat for 2026. The Brazilian's impressive super-sub performances for Mahindra certainly played a key role in this full-time signing.

The 25-year-old becomes the fifth driver to race alongside Dennis at Andretti in five seasons, following in the trail of Oliver Askew (2021-22), Andre Lotterer (2022-23), Norman Nato (2023 - 24) and most recently, Nico Müller (2024 - 25).

The Brazilian driver hasn't had much racing experience since his Formula 2 championship victory for MP Motorsport in 2022, dovetailing reserve duties and FP1 appearances for Aston Martin's Formula One outfit with Maserati reserve duties in Formula E.

This was before Mahindra brought him on as their super sub to replace Nyck de Vries in Berlin, with Drugovich competing in his first single-seater race after three years in the German capital. He adapted quickly to the needs of the Gen3 Evo Formula E car, scoring a crucial seventh in the second race of the weekend.

The six points he scored proved a crucial boost for the Indian manufacturer, helping them secure fourth in the constructors' standings from DS Penske by a mere two points in the following weekend in London.

Drugovich has also been racing in sportscars, taking part in the European Le Mans Series in 2024, and racing two 24 Hours of Le Mans races with the No. 311 Whelen Cadillac Racing entry. He has also raced for the team in the 24 Hours of Daytona as part of the IMSA Championship in 2025, adding more to his motor racing resume.

“I’m so happy to announce that I’ll be joining Andretti Formula E, and I’m really excited about what’s ahead," Drugovich said on his announcement.

"My team and I have been in touch with Andretti ever since I won the Formula 2 title, so it’s great that we’ve managed to stay connected all this time and finally have the opportunity to work together.

"It’s been far too long for me without racing, so I’m incredibly motivated to get back on a racetrack. It means a lot to know I’ll be competing in every session and not just serving as a reserve, as I have done the past few years.

"I’m very thankful to the entire Andretti Global organisation for believing in my potential and for being so supportive. A special thanks also to Roger [Griffiths] for reaching out and making this happen.

"I’m focused, motivated and excited for the future, and I know that Andretti has all the tools in place for me to achieve success. I’m confident this new chapter together will be a memorable one."

Drugovich's return makes Andretti the fifth team to confirm their line-up for Season 12, with the likes of Nissan, Citroen, DS Penske and Lola Yamaha ABT already having done so earlier in the off-season.
