Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll has been ruled out of the Spanish Grand Prix after medical advice due to experiencing pain in his hand and wrist.

After qualifying 14th for the Spanish Grand Prix, Lance Stroll will now be missing the race due to reporting pain in his hand and wrist, which his medical consultant believes is linked to injuries sustained following his cycling accident during 2023's pre-season period.
According to a statement released by Aston Martin, Stroll has been enduring this pain for the past six weeks. Subsequently, the sole points scorer for Aston Martin this year will not be taking part in the ninth round of the championship.
The team's statement further read: "[Stroll] will undergo a procedure to rectify these issues before focusing on his recovery."
Following Stroll's withdrawal, Aston Martin's reserve drivers Felipe Drugovich or Stoffel Vandoorne will presumably step in for the next round, should Stroll's recovery take longer.
With two weeks between Spain and the upcoming race in Canada, Stroll's home race, the Canadian driver will hope to swiftly get back up to speed after his medical procedure and recovery.
