Written by Isha Reshmi Mohan, Edited by Dhara Dave

The 2026 season is fast approaching, and the unveiling of the liveries has already begun. This two-part series will cover the reveals, along with key points dropped by the teams during launch events, just in case you missed them.

Yamaha Pramac

Prima Pramac Yamaha kick-starts the reveals, a launch that also celebrates the team’s 25th anniversary in Siena, Italy.

The event highlighted the highly anticipated arrival of Toprak Razgatlioglu, who appeared in his Pramac leathers and confirmed he will race with the #7 this season.

“The first tests with the new YZR-M1 V4 have been positive, especially in terms of acceleration and corner exit. Of course, this is just the start — in MotoGP, performance comes from continuous work, data sharing and step-by-step improvement, and that is our focus right now,” Razgatlioğlu shared during the launch.

He also emphasised that his main objective is adapting to the bike, which is understandable given the massive difference from the WSBK side, and building consistency.

Soon, we will also see the new V4 engine in action for the Pramac squad. While it has already undergone extensive testing by the Yamaha factory team in 2025, it is set to enter full competition this year.

VR46 Team

The VR46 team revealed their ‘Blackandlight’ livery in Rome, with team owner Valentino Rossi joining the 2026 riders for the grand event.

The unmissable neon yellow contrasts sharply with the pitch-black design as the team returns to its roots after two years of yellow and white. This 'light and shadow' concept, intended by the team to create a striking visual balance, translates perfectly onto the bike.

"I expect to do great races as we ended the year last year in 2025. I hope to grow a lot during the year and fight at the front. It’s super special to start again with the team, with the same stuff this year, which is the first time for me in MotoGP. So feeling great and can’t wait to join the track,” Di Giannantonio shared at the launch.

He also mentioned that the bike reminds him of Rossi’s helmet and provides an aggressive, racing feel that he really likes. Being at home in Rome for the event made the occasion feel extra special to him.

As for Morbidelli, he noted that there are areas to improve for the upcoming season while reflecting on the positives from last year, particularly in the first half. He expressed full trust in his team and crew to support him throughout every race weekend.

Aprilia

Riders: Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi

Next on the list was Aprilia, who maintained their signature colour scheme while adding a lion to the logo on the side of the bike.

Although the team was without one of their main riders for the majority of last year, it still proved to be one of their best seasons yet, along with Marco Bezzecchi securing third in the championship during his debut year with the team.

"This will be a year where I want to get back to battling for the top spots and winning. As soon as I am at 100% fitness, we’ll be ready for anything.” Jorge Martín shared during the launch.

Aprilia CEO, Massimo Rivola, also mentioned the technical details of the RS-GP26: “Every area of the bike has been improved, from the further refined aerodynamics to the chassis architecture and all the way to the electronics and V4 engine, which underwent extensive development in every component not restricted by championship regulations.”

Although there was a significant points gap, the manufacturer finished second behind Ducati last year. We saw a major improvement from the Trackhouse and Aprilia Factory riders as they fought for podium spots in the second half of the season, which gives hope that they can challenge Ducati’s dominance, or at least bridge the gap, this year.

Ducati Factory Team

Riders: Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez

Ducati held a special livery launch to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their founding in 1926.

They enjoyed another dominant year, securing the 'Triple Crown' for the third consecutive season. The year also saw Marc Márquez return to peak form, sealing the title as early as the Japanese Grand Prix. This timing proved fortunate, as he was unfortunately ruled out for the remainder of the season following an injury in the very next race in Indonesia.

"Reaffirming my position will be even more difficult, but we have the ability to make the most of the Desmosedici GP package, which is the most competitive and reliable. Regaining my riding confidence after the injury is the first goal,” Márquez shared at the event.

Unfortunately for Bagnaia, the 2025 season did not go as planned; however, the team expects him to be back at his best for the upcoming year.

“The 2026 season will have a special significance: a new opportunity to demonstrate our full potential in the year of Ducati's centenary celebrations and with a truly impressive livery,”

It is realistic to assume that Ducati will continue sweeping the titles this year, as their performance remains significantly ahead of the rest of the grid. But as noted previously, the progress seen in the second half of last season suggests we could see a genuine fight from a few front-runners this year.

Yamaha showcased a new bike with the much-anticipated V4 engine that generated significant buzz throughout last year. The team held their launch in Jakarta as part of their 3S dealer meeting trip.

“The V4 engine is a big change, and I can't wait to feel how it will develop on track. I think also the fans and the media are very curious….” Quartararo said at the launch. He also highlighted the Indonesian fans and called Jakarta the perfect place to ‘kick things off’ for the season.

General Manager Takahiro Sumi shared that the team has seen ‘encouraging signs’ that include braking stability, better acceleration potential, and a consistent feeling for long runs with the new bike.

That is a wrap for Part One. Stay tuned, because the remaining teams’ liveries will be compiled and out on the website very soon!
