Sky Sports have announced a new deal with W Series to broadcast all qualifying sessions and races live on their channels until the end of the 2024 W series season.
The female-only series, which started in 2019, has continued to attract media hype and attention, particularly surrounding the two-time champion and Wiliams Racing Development Driver Jamie Chadwick. The rest of the grid is made up of a further 17 female drivers from 9 different teams, including Aston Martin Ambassador Jessica Hawkins and 19 year-old Alpine Affiliate Abbi Pulling.
At the heart of W Series is a goal to increase female participation in a traditionally male dominated sport. The new deal is an important step in encouraging the ever growing representation of female talent in global motorsport, with Sky Sports being one of the biggest global Formula 1 broadcasters. Furthermore, Channel 4 will continue to run highlights of W series race weekends alongside the main Sky Sports coverage with the hopes of further increasing global interest and viewing.
The coverage begins with the first race weekend of the season supporting Formula 1 in Miami from the 6th-8th May.
