The Shanghai E-Prix double header produced some incredible results and shock winners. Many drivers experienced unexpected results in a weather-affected race weekend.

Winner: Lucas di Grassi

Whilst Lucas di Grassi is a clear choice for a winner, his victory at the Shanghai E-Prix is more than just a win. The Brazilian's 14th Formula E win came in the final race on Chinese soil, following his retirement announcement earlier in 2026

This weekend seemed to show that Lola Yamaha ABT had found the pace that they needed in the race. Gambling on a drying track towards the end, Di Grassi qualified in 19th place but was able to move his way up the field to first on the last lap.

The strategy that the Brazilian driver had used was plagued with Safety Cars, but a perfectly timed Attack Mode allowed him to get the better of Joel Eriksson and Jean-Éric Vergne.

Before the Shanghai double-header, di Grassi had earned only seven points but now sits 15th in the standings, having earned 25 from winning Round 13 in Shanghai.

Loser: Mitch Evans

Mitch Evans scored just four points across the Shanghai E-Prix weekend and lost the lead of the championship. In Round 12, Evans did not have the pace to remain in his second-place qualifying position and instead finished the race in eighth position.

Round 13 was even worse for the New Zealander, with a huge blow coming to his title hopes as he failed to start the race. Jaguar reported that Evans had suffered an issue with a technical issue. With just three races left as a Jaguar driver, Evans needs to have a flawless performance if he wants to seal the championship.

Loser: Norman Nato

Season 12 has been extremely difficult for Norman Nato, the French driver has scored points on two occasions and currently sits 19th in the standings. At Shanghai, Nato finished in 20th and 17th across the two races, which seemingly followed the trend for his season so far.

In the last few races, Nato will likely be aiming to attempt to gain as many points as he can to close the deficit to teammate Oliver Rowland.

Winner: Pascal Wehrlein

Pascal Wehrlein has had a few difficult weekends in Season 12; however, a 40-point haul, his best weekend result since his championship-winning Season 10 has lifted him into the lead of the standings.

In Round 12, Wehrlein maintained his composure in order to win by over 1.6 seconds and was able to lead every lap. Whilst battles ensued behind him, Wehrlein was able to pull away at the front.

While Round 13 may not have panned out similarly, Wehrlein was able to remain in the top four positions for the entire race. He finished the race in fourth place but was able to gain a valuable twelve points that have given him a nine-point lead over Mitch Evans as he aims to win his second Formula E title.

Winner: Joel Eriksson

Joel Eriksson had an incredible Round 13 on Sunday, earning his maiden podium. The Envision Racing driver was able to move from 17th place to the lead of the race. Despite losing positions in the closing stages, Eriksson was able to claim a comfortable third on the road.

He was able to fend off former champions and a wide array of talented drivers to claim his podium, highlighting how he has developed over the course of the season and how he is able to provide vital points for Envision Racing.
