Da Costa takes amazing back-to-back win in Madrid for Jaguar

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship made a historic debut in the Spanish capital, delivering an electrifying spectacle at the Circuito de Jarama. As the sixth round of Season 12, the inaugural Madrid E-Prix lived up to its billing, featuring the debut of "Pit Boost" technology on a challenging 3.93 km (2.44 mi) layout that tested the limits of the GEN3 Evo cars.

Antonio Felix da Costa secured a sensational victory, marking back-to-back wins for the Portuguese star and spearheading a dominant 1-2 finish for Jaguar TCS Racing. Starting from third on the grid, da Costa utilised a superior energy strategy and a perfectly timed Pit Boost undercut to leapfrog the early leaders.

The closing laps were a masterclass in defensive driving. Da Costa faced intense pressure from his teammate Mitch Evans and a hard-charging Dan Tickum.

Despite the internal rivalry and Evans' visible frustration at finishing just 0.386s behind. the duo secured a maximum points haul for Jaguar, significantly closing the gap in the Team's Championship.

The final spot on the podium was decided in a last-lap thriller. Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein, current championship leader, showcased his trademark consistency by snatching third place at the line.

Wehrlein capitalised on a late-race scramble to overtake Cupra Kiro's Dan Tickum, who had spent much of the race in the podium positions after an impressive performance throughout the weekend.

Tickum ultimately finished fourth, a bittersweet result for the Briton who had topped multiple practice sessions. Behind him, Mahindra's Edoardo Mortara continued his strong form with a fifth-place finish, mantaining his position as a primary title contender.

The race was not without its casualties of strategy. Pole sitter Nick Cassidy, driving for Citroën Racing, saw his hopes of victory vanish following a significant tactical error. A delayed Pit Boost deployment saw him swallowed by the pack, eventually finishing a disappointing 17th.

Conversely, the local crowd had plenty to cheer about thanks to "home hero" Pepe Martí. The Spaniard, driving for Cupra Kiro, produced one of the drives of the day.

Using his Attack Mode to slice through the field, Martí briefly led the E-Prix on Lap 10, sending the grandstands into a frenzy. Although he eventually faded to ninth after his pit sequence, his performance was a highlight of the event.

Following the Madrid E-Prix, Pascal Wehrlein mantains his lead in the Drivers' Standings with 83 points, extending his advantage to 11 points over Edoardo Mortara (72). Mitch Evans and Da Costa have surged into contention, sitting third and fourth respectively.

In the Teams' Championship, Porsche holds a narrow four-point lead over a rapidly advancing Jaguar squad. As the paddock departs Spain for the Berlin double-header, the success of the Madrid E-Prix has firmly established the city as a premier destination for electric racing, blending historic motorsport heritage with the cutting edge of sustainable technology.

Hello everyone! I’m from the USA and saw this article mentioned in a newsletter about digital projects. While reading, I clicked on www.visitmarysvilleks.org/uri-poliavich-the-leader-who-created-a-global-technology-platform and stayed longer than I thought I would. What stood out was how the article connected leadership decisions with real outcomes. It didn’t feel abstract. After going through it, I felt more engaged than I usually do with similar content.
