The FIA have officially announced the full list of driver numbers for Formula E's upcoming Season 13, the first of its Gen4 era. The upcoming season's grid will feature 24 drivers spread across 12 teams, a first full grid in the championship since the 2021 Berlin E-Prix.

A total of 19 drivers have been announced for the upcoming season, with a further five expected to be announced in the lead-up to pre-season testing, commencing on Monday, November 16, 2026, at the Circuito Del Jarama.

However, it also remains to be seen how Taylor Barnard and Fortescue Zero's late contractual entanglement plays out. The Briton was not present at the team's launch event in London last week, sparking rumours of a potential split even before the season had commenced.

This latest series of events will certainly add more to the hubbub of activity expected in the lead-up to testing, with the final list of confirmed drivers for the season to be announced by the FIA on Sunday, November 15, 2026. This comes one day before pre-season testing officially kicks off in Jarama.

To distinguish between two drivers from the same team, one car will run a yellow T-Camera housing above the airbox, allowing fans and viewers to identify it from a distance. The FIA has notified this in its entry list, circulated ahead of the upcoming season.

The noteworthy mentions

Reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein will switch from his traditional race number of 94 to take the coveted No. 1 on his Porsche for the upcoming season. The German driver, now a double world champion in the series, will be sporting this number for the second time in his Formula E career, after Season 11.

Among the rookies on the Formula E grid, Envision Racing's Zak O'Sullivan will sport the number 15. The Briton, who sported the number 19 in Super Formula for Team Impul and 7 for MKS Racing in Super GT, has bid adieu to his racing ventures in Japan. Tokiya Suzuki replaces him for the final Super Formula weekend in 2026.

Opel's Théo Pourchaire is the only other rookie announced on the grid for Season 13, and the Frenchman will be sporting 12 on his yellow Opel for his maiden Formula E season. Pourchaire will depart the World Endurance Championship for Peugeot after the season finale in Monza, solely focusing on his upcoming Formula E season for 2027.

Nissan's Oliver Rowland relinquishes his No. 1 from Season 12 and will go back to using Nissan's traditional No. 23 for the upcoming season. Teammate Zane Maloney carries over the No. 22 from his Lola days to the Japanese squad.

Among the drivers yet to be announced, António Félix da Costa's teammate will sport the No. 5 on his machine. This figure is expected to be Stoffel Vandoorne, although nothing has been announced by either party yet. Jaguar will unveil their Gen4 livery on Tuesday, November 10, and is expected to announce their second name for 2027 in the coming week.

Lola and Fusion Formula E Team are the only ones yet to announce their driver line-ups for the coming season. It is expected for both to do so in the lead-up to testing. Lola's drivers are expected to sport No. 11 (previously used by Lucas di Grassi) and No. 35 for the upcoming season. While no drivers have been officially announced yet, one name doing the rounds is 2025 Indy 500 pole-sitter Robert Shwartzman.

As for the Fusion squad, they will be sporting No. 6 and No. 26 for the upcoming season. No name has been announced yet, but former DTM Champion and Porsche WEC LMGT3 driver Ayhancan Güven has emerged as a big choice for one of the seats.

Cupra Kiro's Jake Hughes takes over the seat alongside Pepe Martí and will also use the No. 33 sported by Dan Ticktum through his stint with the team. Ticktum, on the other hand, will now run No. 30 on his Fortescue Zero machine, while his teammate is expected to run No. 20 for the team's maiden Formula E campaign.
