Isack Hadjar has been ruled out of the Dutch Grand Prix after sustaining a wrist injury during the Formula One summer shutdown, forcing Red Bull into a late driver reshuffle ahead of the Zandvoort weekend.
The Frenchman, who has established himself as Max Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate during the 2026 season, will be unable to compete at the Dutch Grand Prix as he recovers from the injury.
Red Bull confirmed on Wednesday that Liam Lawson will step up from Racing Bulls to replace Hadjar in the RB22 for the Dutch Grand Prix.
In an official statement, the team confirmed:
“Oracle Red Bull Racing driver Isack Hadjar has sustained a wrist injury during summer shutdown that will prevent him from racing at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.
“We will be welcoming back Liam Lawson who will replace him in RB22 this weekend.”
The team wished Hadjar a “speedy recovery” and thanked Lawson for stepping in on short notice.
With Lawson leaving his Racing Bulls seat vacant, Yuki Tsunoda will make his return to the Formula 1 grid, stepping in as Lawson’s replacement.

Tsunoda currently serves as Red Bull and Racing Bulls’ reserve driver, meaning he is already familiar with the team’s operations and remains prepared to step into a race seat when required.
The driver shuffle means the Red Bull family will head into its home-adjacent Dutch weekend with a dramatically altered line-up: Lawson alongside Verstappen at Red Bull, while Tsunoda returns to Racing Bulls for the first time since losing his full-time seat at the end of 2025.
Hadjar’s absence will be a significant blow for Red Bull, with the 21-year-old having quickly established himself as a key part of the team following his promotion for 2026. His move to Red Bull was confirmed after an impressive rookie campaign with Racing Bulls, while Tsunoda moved into a reserve role.
The Dutch Grand Prix will now mark an unexpected return for both Lawson and Tsunoda, with the pair stepping into different seats just days before the lights go out at Zandvoort.
Further updates on Hadjar’s condition and his expected return are expected to follow.
