Cupra Kiro Formula E have announced that their rookie driver, Pepe Martí, will be partaking in the Miami FP0 session. This choice will allow for the young Spaniard to gain invaluable experience following missed practice sessions in São Paulo and Mexico City.

Martí was announced as a full-time Formula E driver in October 2025 after competing in Formula Two for two seasons. Since making his debut, the Spaniard has scored six points in Formula E, and has suffered one non-finish.
During his Formula Two career, the 20-year-old driver claimed nine podiums, including four wins. He has also seen success in many other junior series and has been considered "one of the brightest young talents in single-seater motorsport."

Following the announcement, Pepe Martí said:
“It’s good to be doing FP0 in Miami. Following São Paulo where we missed FP1 and Mexico City where we missed FP2 due to a technical issue, having FP1 and FP2 alongside FP0 should set us up very well for the weekend. For me personally, it’s very exciting to be one of the first drivers to experience the track in a live session, and I’m looking forward to getting the season started again.”
Team Principal of Cupra Kiro, Russell O’Hagan added:
“Thanks to Formula E’s regulations for this season and a welcome initiative by the FIA, we have the unique benefit and advantage of being able to run Pepe in FP0 in Miami. Because the likes of Felipe [Drugovich] and Joel [Eriksson] – the only other first full-year drivers this season – have raced in Formula E in the past, Pepe is the only full-time driver on the grid who is eligible to participate, which makes the session especially valuable for us.
"Pepe’s first experience of a Formula E car only came during pre-season testing, and after the cancellation of FP1 in São Paulo and missing FP2 in Mexico City, FP0 represents an invaluable opportunity for his continued development given his relative level of experience. With the Miami International Autodrome also being a brand-new circuit for Formula E, we also have the added benefit of gaining an extra 40 minutes of running with one of our full-time drivers. It’s an opportunity that no other team has this weekend, and for us, it’s a win-win.”
