Silverstone 500 preview

Written by William Stephens, Edited by Haneen Abbas

The second round of the British GT Championship is at Silverstone, for what is traditionally the longest race on the calendar at 3 hours, but for this year Donnington Park will also hold a 3-hour race.

Just 3 weeks after the first races at Oulton Park, where on-track drama created even more excitement for the series, with Balfe at the top of the standings after good results at both races. Century motorsports M4 GT3 will be looking for a better weekend after missing the first race and qualifying due to damage.

Another team looking to bounce back is the Rocket RJN outfit, who suffered a crash in the first race whilst battling for the lead, and P4 overall in the second race gives them plenty of room for improvement. Barwell will have the same hope at a track they have won on before, after a relative no-show for the team that has won the championship several times in recent years with the likes of Dennis Lind, Rob Collard, and Phil Keen to name a few.

The race itself will be 3 hours of the 3.66 mile GP layout at Silverstone with three mandatory pit stops as well as the multiclass nature of the races designed to provide excitement from lights to flag in all classes.
