Christian Horner has approached Haas about a potential role in the American-based outfit, Komatsu revealed.

After a 20-year tenure with Red Bull, Christian Horner was sacked as team principal back in July.
He remained with the team in the background until September, when he reached an agreement with the team of a reduced pay-off of £75 million (according to Sky Sports).
The reason for the reduced pay-off is that the 51-year-old wanted to ensure he could return to the sport after his gardening leave in 2026.
Since the announcement, rumours have spiralled about where Horner may end up if he returns to the racing scene. Alpine and Cadillac have been heavily linked with Horner, though the American outfit shut down the rumours back in August.
It has now been revealed that Haas was approached by Horner over a potential role in the team. However, team principal Ayao Komatsu quickly shut the door on the rumours, stating the talks haven’t, and won’t, go any further:
"Yeah, it is true that he approached us. Then one of our guys had an exploratory talk," Komatsu said to Sky Sports during Thursday’s media day before the Singapore Grand Prix.
"And that's it. Nothing has gone any further. It is finished."
"I've got nothing more to say. Like I said, you write whatever you want. I'm not fuelling that story." Komastu concluded.
Aston Martin has also been heavily linked with Horner, with Formula 1 CEO and team principal Andy Cowell not ruling out the possibility of the Briton joining the Silverstone-based outfit:
"I think Christian has taken some time out at the moment. He's probably enjoying time with friends and family,"
"He loves the sport though. I wish him well with whatever he ends up doing in the future." Cowell said.
Amid the Red Bull politics that plagued the team for several months in 2024, Adrian Newey announced he would be departing the team after 19 years.
The 26 significant trophies the acclaimed engineer secured during his tenure of F1, made him a crucial addition to any team. After his gardening leave, Newey joined Aston Martin as Managing Technical Partner, and also became a shareholder in the team.
"We have got a strong team. We've got a strong team with Adrian at the helm of the technical organisation. And we're growing and building.” Cowell continued.
"I think Christian's record speaks for itself. He's a great competitor.
“I guess it's down to Christian to work out what he wants to do. I think we've got a strong set-up and we're marching forward with that."
