Coming off the back of a triumphant 1-2 for Cadillac and JOTA in São Paulo, the news has broken that Formula One World Champion, Jenson Button, will be retiring from his full time racing commitments.
2025 is Button's second season in the top class of the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Both years he has competed with the JOTA team, but in a different car for each of them. Last season, Button raced in the Porsche 963, before getting behind the wheel of the Cadillac V-Series.R in 2025 - as JOTA became the sole runner of the Cadillac Hypercars.
Button has been racing alongside Earl Bamber and Sebastien Bourdais, making them one of the most experienced trios on the WEC grid. This experience can be seen in their results - most recently in the Six Hours of São Paulo when their car finished in second place.
Button vouches to spend more time with his family, having turned 45 earlier this year. Despite this being a retirement from full time racing, there is still a good chance he will continue to appear at events such as the Goodwood Revival, where he often races his Jaguar E-Type.
Although the Brit is yet to win a race in WEC, there are still four races left of the season for him to conclude his brilliant career with a victory.
