The duo were among several drivers to be summoned to the stewards' office post the sprint, with the leading duo of race winner Pepe Martí and Alex Dunne too called up to investigate potential safety car infringements.

While there would be no further action taken against both, the likes of Lindblad and Browning suffered five-second time penalties for their respective infractions. This demoted them from fourth and fifth to 10th and 12th respectively, promoting those behind up by one spot.

The duo were two of the five drivers to receive penalties during F2's sprint, including PREMA Racing's Gabriele Minì, AIX Racing's Cian Shields and Van Amersfoort Racing's John Bennett.

Lindblad received his penalty for "leaving the track and gaining a lasting advantage over Car 14 (Martins)," according to the official FIA document released by the stewards confirming the penalty.

This occurred on Lap 20, when Lindblad fended off the gaining Martins for third on the road, as the Campos racer exceeded the white line denoting the track limits on the exit of Turn 3, rejoining the track just ahead of Martins' ART Grand Prix car and maintaining third. This forced the Frenchman to briefly lift off the throttle, costing him position to DAMS racer Jak Crawford behind.

The verdict by the stewards read as follows:

"The Stewards concluded that Lindblad was only able to maintain and defend his position by going off track, which is in contravention to the agreed driving standard guidelines.

"Considering it was a breach in defensive move, the stewards elected to impose the lesser penalty of 5 seconds."

Likewise, Browning was also slapped with a five-second penalty for skipping over the run off at the chicane of Turns 6 and 7 on the final lap, as he attempted to defend fifth from Martins.

The verdict delivered by the stewards too mentioned that the Hitech TGR driver was able to maintain position only by crossing the run-off at Turn 7, and thus imposed with a penalty of five seconds, demoting Browning to 12th.

The revised standings see both Leonardo Fornaroli and Richard Verschoor promoted up two spots in the overall classification, further boosting their own points tallies after the Hungarian sprint.

Further back, the results promoted Oliver Goethe to seventh and Browning's teammate Dino Beganovic into the final points-paying position, capping off a recovery drive from the Swedish driver who started 14th on the grid. Crawford's teammate Kush Maini was promoted to ninth, capping off an excellent recovery drive for the Indian driver.
