“Never say never”: Lucas di Grassi opens up on post-Formula E plans

Since Season 1, Lucas di Grassi has been a constant presence on the Formula E grid. He won the first-ever Formula E race, and has since won an additional 12. Ahead of the Berlin E-Prix, the Brazilian driver announced his retirement. DIVEBOMB spoke to the Season 3 champion following Race One at the Berlin E-Prix.

During Race 1, Lucas di Grassi charged from 19th position and took the lead of the race on Lap 10.

“I had a lot of fun out there. I think more important than leading the race actually, I led the race with a lot of energy so I came all the way from the back, managed to make the right overtakes and with the right energy and so it was looking good after Lap 10.” The Brazilian said following the race.

He maintained his position in the Top 10 until Lap 25 and explained what went wrong, leading to him falling down the order:

“Unfortunately, a slow pit stop and then our pace with Attack Mode was not great today- the car was not good and we finished outside of the points but yeah strong beginning of the race. I’m pleased and I had fun.”

For the last few seasons, di Grassi has seemingly struggled- he has claimed two podiums in the last four seasons. With only nine races (ten at the time of the interview) left in his Formula E career, leading the race surely had positive implications for di Grassi, when asked he said:

“I have 10 races to go. I’m gonna push in all of them, see what we can do. I always try my best in whatever I do- even when I do poor things, I’ve tried my best. If I have tried to teach my daughter some ballet, I try my best as well. But everything I try to do, I try my best so I’m going to give 100% to the end of the season- every race, every qualifying I’m going to have fun but at the same time I know it's important for Lola (Cars) so I’m gonna keep pushing.”

During the E-Prix, the presenters were debating what was next for the Lola Yamaha ABT driver and whether he would consider a career in the media.

“A media career?” di Grassi questioned. “I mean why not? Never say never. Maybe for a few races, why not? I have other plans already lined up but a little bit of TV and media it’s good to try to pass my expertise to the fans. I think that could be good.”

Online bonuses typically come in different formats, such as welcome offers, deposit-based rewards, or occasional no-deposit promotions. On regulated platforms in the UK, the terms are usually presented more transparently, which helps users better understand how these offers work in practice. Before using any bonus, it’s generally important to review key conditions like wagering requirements and any game restrictions, red-lioncasino.uk since these can affect how the bonus is actually used. When approached carefully and with clear expectations, bonuses can simply serve as a way to explore different games and get familiar with how the platform operates.👍

I've followed Lucas di Grassi since that historic first Formula E win in Beijing, and his passion for racing is still so clear. It's interesting to discover that he's already got other plans lined up but remains open to a media role — his expertise would be fantastic for fans to learn from. That charge from 19th to the lead in Berlin shows he's not just coasting to retirement. I hope he stays involved in motorsport in some capacity after season 10 ends. True legend.
