Nissan have announced an exciting driver line-up for the upcoming Rookie Test in Madrid, as Alpine endurance racer Victor Martins teams up with Rookie and Simulator Driver Abbi Pulling for the one-day test.

Pulling has already tested a Formula E car multiple times, having taken part in the All-Women Formula E Test during pre-season testing in 2025 and 2026. The British racer has also driven for the team in the Berlin Rookie Test in 2025, and represented the Japanese team in the Rookie Free Practice session in Miami earlier this season.
“I’m pleased to be teaming up with Nissan Formula E Team again in Jarama. I’m feeling comfortable in the car following my recent outings and the simulator work, so my target is to keep improving," Pulling said, delighted to return to the racetrack once again.
"I was able to get up to speed quickly in Miami and Jarama is a track I’ve visited before with Nissan Formula E Team, so it will be interesting to compare myself to the benchmark set there last time. I can’t wait to be back on track with the squad.”
Pulling boasts plenty of single-seater experience, having won the all-female F1 Academy championship after an utterly dominant season in 2024, when she never finished off the podium. Winning the title also earned a seat on Rodin Motorsport's GB3 team for the following year, with Pulling eventually scoring a podium at Brands Hatch on her way to 10th in the standings.
The former Alpine junior will turn out for Rodin Motorsport in the upcoming GB3 campaign, as she aims to further her single-seater ambitions. Pulling is also one of four women driving in the Madrid Rookie Test, as she aims to become the next female driver to take a full-time race seat in the series.

As for Martins, this will be his first outing in a Formula E car. The former F2 race-winner will turn out for Alpine's hypercar squad in the World Endurance Championship, piloting the No. 36 hypercar alongside veterans Jules Gounon and Frédéric Makowiecki.
“I’m really excited to be back with Nissan Formula E Team. I know a lot of the crew, so it will be great to return to familiar surroundings for a productive day of testing. I haven’t driven the GEN3 Evo car before so I’m looking forward to experiencing the all-wheel drive and learning as much as I can," Martins said, in a statement ahead of his first official Formula E appearance.
"It’s been a while since I drove a Formula E car, but I’ll still look to build on my previous time with the team in Berlin. We’ve been preparing well for the test and I’m sure that we will complete our program together on the day. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and a big thank you to Nissan Formula E Team for believing in me.”
The Frenchman previously served as an Alpine junior, finishing fifth in his maiden F2 season and winning the prestigious Anthoine Hubert Trophy, for the best-placed rookie in the standings. His efforts helped ART Grand Prix take home both titles, as teammate and fellow endurance debutant Théo Pourchaire winning the title that year.
Martins has often suffered from a poor run of luck in his next two F2 seasons, being unable to match the highs of his debut season. He would finish seventh in 2024, taking the sprint victory in Barcelona.
Having switched to the Williams Driver Academy in 2025, Martins emerged as one of the most consistent qualifiers on the grid, finishing second on several occasions, and taking one pole position at Silverstone. While he took the Feature Race victory in Qatar, he would finish only 11th in the standings.
“The upcoming Rookie Test in Madrid will be a great opportunity to keep developing the GEN3 Evo technology since Valencia in pre-season, and we are delighted to have Abbi and Victor with us for the day," expressed Nissan team principal Tommaso Volpe, on the announcement.
Abbi is developing strongly, she’s completed plenty of mileage in the car and her impact in preparation for each race event is constantly growing. She is getting more and more comfortable and improving as a Formula E driver, which is a big positive for both her and the team.
"We’re also very happy to have Victor back with us after the Berlin test in 2023. He’s an incredibly talented driver and part of our family, as an official Alpine driver in the World Endurance Championship, so we are excited to benefit from his skills and experience while we continue building our relationship.”
