Reigning constructors' champions Porsche have announced their driver line-up for the upcoming Formula E campaign, with Nico Müller moving over from Andretti to join Pascal Wehrlein at the German outfit for Season 12.

Müller replaces António Félix da Costa, who departed the world champions in a switch to Jaguar for Season 12, following a lengthy saga with the team in purple.

The Swiss driver himself moved over from customer team Andretti to race for Porsche, as the American team opted to change their driver line-up for the fifth time in five seasons, signing rookie Felipe Drugovich to partner the incumbent Jake Dennis for Season 12.

Müller emerged as a strong contender for Porsche's second seat, in a race that saw a handful of names being thrown into the ring, including the likes of Dan Ticktum, Stoffel Vandoorne, and even recently crowned DTM champion Ayhancan Guven.

However, a factor that aided Müller's case was his status as Porsche's test and factory driver, a role he has held ever since the beginning of Season 11, when he joined Andretti to partner Dennis.

The 33-year-old couldn't match Dennis's season for Andretti in 2025, however, his highs included fourth in Jakarta, including a podium finish he briefly held before Envision Racing's Sébastien Buemi's appeal was overturned, giving the team in green a podium, and prolonging Müller's wait for a second Formula E podium finish. This also matched Müller's best finish of fourth in 2025, which came earlier in Miami in a race affected by penalties for multiple drivers.

Other strong drives including fifth in Monaco, with Müller turning around a tough start to finish in a lofty position, and sixth in the rain-affected race at Shanghai. Other points finishes included ninth at Mexico City and eighth in Berlin, as he finished 15th on the ladder with 48 points to his name.

“I’m incredibly proud of this step and thank Porsche Motorsport for their trust. My last season wasn’t easy, but it was all the more instructive – that motivates me tremendously to repay the team’s trust on the track. I’m looking forward to getting to know the team even more and I am convinced that Pascal and I will form a strong duo. I want to contribute as quickly as possible to helping the team build on its recent successes,” a delighted Müller spoke on his step up to the world champions for 2026.

As for Pascal Wehrlein, Season 12 marks his sixth campaign with Porsche, and continues what has been an extremely successful run with the team from Weissach. The German driver entered Season 11 with the aim to defend his title, however, he was unable to do so, with Oliver Rowland triumphing for Nissan, leaving Wehrlein to settle for third, behind the hard charging Jaguar of Nick Cassidy in the standings.

A solitary win in Miami headlined his campaign, while podiums in Mexico City, Shanghai and Berlin helped Porsche secure their maiden constructors' title, with Wehrlein spearheading the team's run to silverware.

“I’m delighted that Nico is joining us and believe he’s a great fit for the team. A good collaboration is the foundation for success, but nothing in motorsport comes easily – we have to keep working hard. I think Nico and I share this attitude. That’s good, because preparing for GEN4 alongside the racing season will demand a lot from all of us,” Wehrlein said, speaking praises of his new teammate.

Porsche team principal Florian Modlinger was delighted with his new potent line-up for 2026, mentioning Müller as the 'logical successor' to da Costa.

“Welcome to the team, Nico! For us, he’s the logical successor to António and we’ve been observing his abilities for some time, which is why he became a factory driver last year. It was also important for us to choose an experienced driver who could jump in the car as seamlessly as possible. Nico is already familiar with the 99X Electric from Andretti and has also done simulator work at Weissach. We want to challenge for all the titles, so we still need two drivers who have everything they need to score points as quickly and consistently as possible,” he said.

Porsche become the latest team to confirm their line-up for Season 11, with only Mahindra and Cupra Kiro left to officially announce their driver line-ups for Season 12, as the grid begins to form, ahead of pre-season testing which will take place between 27th October and 31st October.
